    Ultimate Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf Recipe

     

    This Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf is a savory twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, blending ground beef with sautéed onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Topped with gooey melted provolone cheese, it’s the ultimate comfort food for any occasion. The addition of cheese whiz and Worcestershire sauce adds rich flavor and moisture. Perfect for family dinners, this meatloaf is easy to prepare and bake. Serve with your favorite sides for a delicious, satisfying meal!

    Ingredients:

    1 tablespoon oil

    1 onion, diced

    1 green bell pepper, diced

    8 ounces mushrooms, diced

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    2 pounds ground beef

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1/2 teaspoon pepper

    1/2 cup cheese whiz (optional for extra cheesiness)

    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

    2 tablespoons ketchup

    2 eggs

    1 cup panko breadcrumbs (use gluten-free for a gluten-free option)

    4 ounces provolone cheese (optional)

    8 slices provolone cheese (for topping)

    Directions:

    1. Sauté Vegetables:
    Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Cook for 7-10 minutes, or until vegetables are soft. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

    2. Prepare the Meatloaf Mixture:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, cheese whiz, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, eggs, breadcrumbs, and the cooked vegetable mixture. Mix until well combined.

    3. Stuff with Cheese:
    On a lined baking sheet, shape half of the meatloaf mixture into a loaf. Place the 4 ounces of provolone cheese in the center. Cover with the remaining meat mixture, sealing the edges to enclose the cheese fully. Shape into a loaf.

    4. Bake to Perfection:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Bake the meatloaf for 50-60 minutes, or until fully cooked.

    5. Add Gooey Cheese Topping:
    Place the sliced provolone cheese over the top of the meatloaf. Return it to the oven and broil for 2-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

    6. Serve and Enjoy:
    Slice and serve hot! Pair with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
