Ingredients:

Chocolate Cake Layers
2 cups flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup hot coffee or hot water

Caramel Filling
1 can (400 g) dulce de leche
OR
1 cup caramel sauce + ½ cup whipped cream (for a creamier filling)

Chocolate Ganache
1½ cups cream
340 g dark chocolate, finely chopped
2 tbsp butter (optional for extra shine)

Optional Toppings
Grated white-orange chocolate
Grated carrot
Candied orange peel

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 20 cm pans and line the bottoms with parchment.
In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla.
Combine wet and dry mixtures, mixing only until smooth.
Slowly add hot coffee and stir into a thin batter.
Divide batter into the pans and bake 25–30 minutes.
Cool completely before assembling.

Warm dulce de leche or caramel mixture until spreadable.
Spread generously between each cake layer.

Heat the cream (do not boil).
Pour over chopped chocolate; let sit 2–3 minutes.
Stir until glossy and smooth.
Add butter if desired for shine.
Let thicken slightly, then coat the cake.

Add grated chocolate, carrot shavings, or candied orange peel.
Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before slicing for clean, neat layers.
