    The Ultimate Salisbury Steak Meatballs with Mushroom Gravy

     

    The Ultimate Salisbury Steak Meatballs with Mushroom Gravy is a comforting and hearty meal perfect for dinner. Juicy beef meatballs are browned to perfection, then simmered in a rich, savory mushroom gravy made with Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard. Serve these flavorful meatballs over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles for the ultimate comfort food experience. The recipe is quick, easy, and packed with bold flavors, ideal for a family-friendly meal. This dish is sure to become a favorite in your dinner rotation!

    Ingredients:

    For the Meatballs:

    1 lb ground beef

    ½ cup breadcrumbs

    1 egg

    ¼ cup milk

    1 small onion, finely chopped

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    1 tsp Dijon mustard

    1 tsp paprika

    ½ tsp salt

    ½ tsp black pepper

    2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)

    For the Mushroom Gravy:

    2 tbsp unsalted butter

    8 oz mushrooms, sliced

    1 small onion, finely chopped

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    2 tbsp all-purpose flour

    2 cups beef broth

    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    1 tbsp Dijon mustard

    ½ tsp thyme (optional)

    Salt and pepper to taste

    2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Make the Meatballs:

    In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.

    Shape the mixture into 1 ½-inch meatballs.

    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the meatballs, turning occasionally, until browned (about 6-8 minutes). Remove from the skillet and set aside.

    2. Prepare the Mushroom Gravy:

    In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the mushrooms and onion, and sauté until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes).

    Add the garlic and cook for another minute.

    Stir in the flour, cook for 1-2 minutes, and gradually whisk in the beef broth to avoid lumps.

    Add the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until the gravy thickens.

    3. Combine & Serve:

    Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the mushroom gravy for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.

    Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over your favorite side dish.
