Tender & Juicy Poor Man’s Prime Rib Recipe

This Poor Man’s Prime Rib recipe delivers the rich flavor of prime rib at a fraction of the cost! Using a budget-friendly eye of round roast, it’s seasoned simply with garlic and onion powder, salt, and pepper for maximum flavor. The secret to its tender, juicy texture is in the unique roasting technique cooked briefly at high heat and then left in the oven to rest. This method guarantees a perfect roast every time, ideal for family dinners or special occasions. Enjoy a mouthwatering roast that’s easy to make and sure to impress!

    Ingredients

3-pound beef eye of round roast

    1 tsp garlic powder

    1 tsp onion powder

    Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions: How to Make a Perfect Poor Man’s Prime Rib

    1. Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C). Generously season the beef roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place the roast in a roasting pan or baking dish without covering or adding water.

    2. Roast and Rest: Put the seasoned roast in the preheated oven, then reduce the temperature to 475°F (245°C). Roast for exactly 21 minutes (about 7 minutes per pound). After roasting, turn off the oven and let the roast sit undisturbed in the hot oven for 2 ½ hours. (Important: Do not open the oven door!)

    3. Check and Serve: Carefully remove the roast from the oven. Ensure the internal temperature has reached at least 145°F (65°C) for a juicy, tender result. Slice thinly and serve this flavorful Poor Man’s Prime Rib for a delicious.
