    Tangy Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe

     

     

    Tangy Sweet and Sour Meatballs Recipe

    Ingredients:

    – 1 pound ground beef
    – 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    – 1/4 cup milk
    – 1 egg
    – 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    – 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    – 1/2 teaspoon salt
    – 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    – 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

    For the Sauce:

    – 1 cup ketchup
    – 1/2 cup brown sugar
    – 1/4 cup white vinegar
    – 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    – 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Meatballs:
    – In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
    – Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

    2. Cook the Meatballs:
    – Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    – Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes.

    3. Make the Sauce:
    – In a separate bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, white vinegar, and soy sauce.
    – If desired, add cornstarch to thicken the sauce.

    4. Combine and Simmer:
    – Pour the sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Stir gently to coat the meatballs evenly with the sauce.
    – Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
