    Stuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole

    A comforting and hearty dish that combines all the flavors of traditional stuffed cabbage rolls in a simple casserole form, perfect for family dinners.

     

    Ingredients:

    1 lb ground beef or turkey

    1 small onion, diced

    3 cups chopped green cabbage

    1.5 cups cooked white rice

    1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

    1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained

    1 teaspoon garlic powder

    1 teaspoon paprika

    Salt and pepper to taste

    1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)

     

    Directions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

    2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey until browned. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

    3. In a large bowl, mix the cooked meat and onion with chopped cabbage, cooked rice, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.

    4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.

    5. If using, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.

    6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.

    7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy this delicious and satisfying casserole that brings the flavors of stuffed cabbage rolls to your table!
