    Sponge Cake

    Ingredients:

    For the Cake:
    – 1/2 cup oil
    – 1/2 cup milk
    – 1/2 cup water
    – 2 cups flour
    – 4 teaspoons baking powder
    – 4 eggs
    – 1 teaspoon vanilla
    – 1 cup sugar

    For the Syrup:
    – 1 1/2 cups water
    – 3 tablespoons butter
    – 2 1/2 cups icing sugar
    – 3 heaped tablespoons cocoa powder

    For the Red Syrup:
    – 1 1/2 cups water
    – 3 heaped tablespoons jam
    – 3/4 cup icing sugar
    – Red gel food coloring

    Instructions:

    1. Cake Preparation:
    – Boil together oil, milk, and water. Set aside to cool slightly.
    – Sift together flour and baking powder.
    – In a separate bowl, beat eggs, vanilla, and sugar for about 5 to 6 minutes until light and fluffy.
    – Gradually add the flour mixture and milk mixture in about 3 batches, folding gently to incorporate the ingredients.
    – Pour the batter into greased cupcake trays.
    – Bake at 180°C or 160°C (oven temperature may vary) for 15 to 20 minutes, or until baked through.

    2. Chocolate Syrup:
    – In a pot, brown the butter.
    – Add water, icing sugar, and cocoa powder.
    – Stir everything together over medium heat until well blended and butter is melted.
    – Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

    3. Red Syrup:
    – In another pot, add water and jam.
    – Stir in icing sugar and red gel food coloring.
    – Heat over medium heat until it reaches boiling point, then let it boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
    – Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

    Enjoy your delicious sponge cake with the chocolate and red syrups!
