    Slow Cooker Steak Bites Recipe

     

    This Slow Cooker Steak Bites recipe delivers tender, juicy beef with rich, savory flavors. Perfect for busy days, the slow cooker does all the work, making it a hassle-free dinner option. With sirloin steak, onions, garlic, and a buttery au jus gravy, it’s a comforting dish that pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes or egg noodles. The optional searing step adds a delicious depth of flavor. Great for family meals, leftovers can be stored or frozen for easy future dinners!

    Ingredients:

    3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

    2 teaspoons kosher salt

    1 teaspoon black pepper

    2 tablespoons olive oil

    1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced

    3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

    1 cup unsalted beef stock or broth

    1 ounce au jus gravy mix (1 packet)

    4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

    Fresh chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Prep the Steak: Season the steak bites with kosher salt and black pepper in a large bowl. Toss well to coat evenly.

    2. Sear for Flavor: Heat half the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak pieces in batches, ensuring a golden crust forms. Transfer the seared steak to a 6-quart slow cooker. Add more oil to the skillet if needed for additional batches.

    3. Layer Ingredients: Add sliced onion and garlic on top of the steak bites in the slow cooker. Pour in the beef stock, then sprinkle the au jus gravy mix evenly over the top. Lay the butter slices across the surface.

    4. Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on:

    HIGH for 3–4 hours

    LOW for 6–8 hours
    Stir occasionally, about every 30 minutes, if possible.

    5. Serve & Enjoy: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving (optional). These tender steak bites pair perfectly with creamy mashed potatoes or buttery egg noodles.

    Notes:

    Substitute sirloin steak with round steak, stew meat, or chuck roast for a budget-friendly alternative.

    Searing the steak enhances flavor but is optional. Skip this step if short on time.

    Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
