    Slow Cooker Apple Dumplings

    Ingredients (Servings: 8)

    • 2 large firm apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and cut into 8 wedges each

    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
    • 1 cup packed light brown sugar

    Directions:

    1. Spray a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
    2. Slice apples into 16 wedges total.
    3. Separate crescent roll dough into 8 triangles. Place 2 apple wedges on the wide end of each triangle and roll, tucking in sides.
    4. Arrange dumplings seam-side down in the slow cooker.
    5. Whisk melted butter and brown sugar, pour evenly over dumplings.
    6. Cook on HIGH 2–2.5 hours or LOW 4–4.5 hours until dough is golden and sauce bubbles.
    7. Set to WARM for 10 minutes to thicken sauce. Serve warm, spooning caramel-like syrup over dumplings.

    • Swap half the brown sugar for dark brown sugar for a richer caramel taste.
