    Slap Ya Momma Pound Cake

    A rich, moist, and buttery pound cake that melts in your mouth! Perfect for dessert lovers, coffee time, or special celebrations, this classic homemade pound cake recipe is topped with a decadent glaze for the ultimate indulgence.

    3 cups granulated sugar
    5 large eggs, room temperature
    1 cup full-fat sour cream
    1 tbsp vanilla extract

    2½ cups powdered sugar
    4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    4–5 tbsp heavy cream or milk
    1½ tsp vanilla extract
    Pinch of salt
    Optional Topping: White chocolate curls or shredded coconut

    Directions:

    Set oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan for easy release.

    Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Sifting ensures a light, even-textured pound cake.

    Beat butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes). This traps air for a soft, airy texture.

    Incorporate eggs one at a time, fully blending each for rich, consistent batter.

    Add sour cream, vanilla, and almond extract. Beat until smooth for extra moisture and flavor depth.

    Add sifted flour gradually. Mix gently to avoid overworking, keeping your cake tender and soft.

    Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 70–80 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. The cake should be golden with a slight crust.

    Cool in pan 15–20 minutes, then invert onto a rack. Allow to cool completely before glazing.

    Whisk melted butter, powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Adjust thickness with cream or sugar.

    Drizzle glaze over cooled cake, letting it drip naturally. Top with white chocolate curls or shredded coconut for eye-catching presentation.
