Rustic Mushroom & Melted Cheese Tartine
Enjoy this Rustic Mushroom & Melted Cheese Tartine with Garlic Herb Sauté! Crispy sourdough topped with caramelized mushrooms, melted mozzarella or Gruyère, and fresh herbs a perfect gourmet snack or quick meal.
Ingredients:
4 slices rustic sourdough or artisan bread
1.5 cups cremini or button mushrooms, thinly sliced
1.5 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1.5 cups shredded mozzarella or Gruyère cheese
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a skillet over medium heat, melt olive oil and butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add sliced mushrooms, thyme, salt, and pepper. Sauté 7–9 minutes until mushrooms are golden brown and caramelized. Set aside.
Lightly toast sourdough slices in the oven or toaster to create a sturdy tartine base.
Place bread on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over each slice, then top with the caramelized mushrooms.
Bake for 7–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
