Mississippi Mud Chicken (Slow Cooker Recipe)

Ingredients:

3 pounds of chicken thighs, drumsticks, or chicken breasts

6 pepperoncini peppers (just the peppers no juice)

2 packets (1 oz each) au jus gravy mix

1 packet (0.4 oz) buttermilk ranch dressing mix

1 stick salted butter (like Land O’Lakes), chopped into pieces

Instructions:

  1. Place your chicken (thighs, legs, or breasts) into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the au jus mix and ranch dressing mix evenly over the chicken.
  3. Chop up the salted butter and scatter it over the top.
  4. Add the pepperoncini peppers directly on top of the chicken. (Do not add the liquid!)
  5. DO NOT ADD WATER or any other liquid.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours until the chicken is tender and falls apart easily.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes, white rice, or even buttered egg noodles.
