    Minced Potato Roll

     

     

    This Minced Potato Roll is a hearty, nutritious dish combining sweet potatoes, cheddar cheese, and lean minced meat. Baked to perfection, it’s topped with a flavorful meat filling and creamy béchamel sauce. The recipe is rich in essential nutrients, offering a satisfying and balanced meal. It’s a great way to enjoy a comforting yet health-conscious dish. Perfect for a wholesome family dinner!

    Ingredients:

    – 5 large sweet potatoes (a nutritious choice for a balanced diet)
    – 1 small bowl of grated cheddar cheese / 100 grams (for added protein and calcium)
    – 2 eggs (a good source of vitamins and minerals)
    – 1 teaspoon of salt
    – 1 teaspoon black pepper
    – 1 teaspoon of paprika

    For the minced meat:
    – 500 grams of minced meat (opt for lean cuts for better heart health)
    – 2-3 tablespoons of oil (choose a healthy cooking oil)
    – 1 onion
    – 1 hot pepper
    – 2 green peppers
    – 1 teaspoon of salt
    – 1 teaspoon black pepper
    – 1 teaspoon of red pepper powder
    – 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
    – 1 cup of water
    – 2-3 sprigs of mint

    Bechamel sauce:
    – 1 tablespoon of butter
    – 1 tablespoon of flour
    – 1 cup milk / 300 ml (consider low-fat options for healthier choices)
    – Salt and Pepper

    Directions:

    1. Peel and grate the sweet potatoes, which are packed with nutrients that support overall health. Squeeze out the juice and place the grated potatoes in a mixing bowl.

    2. Add cheddar cheese, eggs, black pepper, salt, and hot pepper to the potatoes and mix well.

    3. Press the mixture onto a tray lined with parchment paper.

    4. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C until the top and bottom turn light brown, providing a comforting and wholesome meal.

    For the filling:

    1. Cook the minced meat in a pan until fully browned, ensuring it’s a lean option for better health management.

    2. Add onions and peppers, cooking until tender.

    3. Incorporate spices and tomato paste, stirring well.

    4. Add hot water and mix, allowing the filling to cook until the water evaporates.

    5. Remove from heat and set aside.

    6. Once the potato base is baked, cover it with the minced meat mixture.

    7. Roll it up and place it in the center of the tray.
