    Meatballs with Potatoes and Cheese

    These savory meatballs with potatoes and cheese are a perfect comfort food for any family dinner. Tender ground beef meatballs are seasoned with onions, parsley, and paprika, then baked alongside parboiled Russet potatoes. The creamy bechamel sauce adds a rich texture, while melted mozzarella cheese ties everything together. This dish is easy to make and packs a delicious punch of flavor. Perfect for those craving a hearty, cheesy meal that everyone will love!

    Ingredients

    3 peeled parboiled Russet potatoes

    1 diced white onion

    1 pinch dried paprika

    1 pinch dried parsley

    2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

    1½ pounds ground beef

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    For the Bechamel Sauce:

    5 tablespoons butter

    4 cups milk

    4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

    2 teaspoons salt

    ½ teaspoon nutmeg

    Instructions

    1. Make the Bechamel Sauce:
    In a skillet, melt the butter, then stir in the flour.
    Whisk and cook for about 6 minutes, or until golden.
    Heat the milk in a separate pan until just before boiling.
    Gradually add one cup of milk at a time to the flour mixture, whisking until smooth between each addition.
    Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Season with salt and black pepper, and add nutmeg for extra flavor.

    2. Prepare the Meatballs:
    Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
    In a bowl, mix the ground beef, diced onion, dried parsley, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
    Shape the mixture into meatballs.

    3. Assemble the Dish:
    Line a round casserole dish with parboiled potato slices, covering the bottom and sides.
    Arrange the meatballs on top of the potatoes, adding some slices of potato between each meatball for extra texture.

    4. Top and Bake:
    Pour the creamy bechamel sauce over the meatballs and potatoes.
    Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese for a gooey, cheesy finish.
    Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until golden and bubbling.

    Serve and enjoy this savory, cheesy meatball dish with potatoes, perfect for any family dinner!
