    Tender, cheesy, and packed with rich flavor, this Amish-style Hamburger Steak Bake is the ultimate comfort food! Perfect for a cozy dinner, this oven-baked hamburger steak is smothered in a savory beef broth sauce and topped with melty cheddar or mozzarella. Serve it with mashed potatoes or roasted veggies for a meal the whole family will love!

    Ingredients:

    1 ½ lbs ground beef (for juicy, flavorful patties)
    1 large onion, chopped (adds a rich, sweet taste)
    2 cloves garlic, minced (boosts the savory depth)
    1 tablespoon olive oil (for browning the patties)
    1 cup breadcrumbs (for a perfect texture)
    1 egg (helps bind everything together)
    ½ cup milk (keeps the patties moist)
    1 teaspoon salt (enhances the beefy flavor)
    ½ teaspoon black pepper (for a mild kick)
    1 teaspoon paprika (adds warmth and smokiness)
    2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (deep, umami-rich taste)
    1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella for extra gooeyness)
    1 cup beef broth (creates a delicious sauce)
    1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

    Instructions:

    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until well combined.
    Shape the mixture into 4-6 hamburger patties based on your preferred size.
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side. Set aside.
    In the same skillet, sauté chopped onions until translucent (about 5 minutes).
    Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer. For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir it in.
    Place the browned patties in a baking dish and pour the broth and onion mixture over them.
    Sprinkle generously with shredded cheese for a gooey, golden finish.
    Bake for 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    Serve hot with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or buttered noodles.
