Ingredients:

For the Marinated Beef:

1½ lbs (700g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp browning sauce (or dark soy sauce for deep color)

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tsp ground black pepper

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh grated ginger

1 small Scotch bonnet pepper, finely chopped (optional but authentic!)

1 tbsp Jamaican jerk seasoning or all-purpose Caribbean spice

For the Sauce:

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp cornstarch

¼ cup beef broth or water

For Stir-Frying:

1 medium onion, sliced

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 green bell pepper, sliced

2 tbsp vegetable oil

2 chopped scallions (for garnish)

Directions:

In a bowl, mix beef slices with soy sauce, oyster sauce, browning sauce, oil, garlic, ginger, Scotch bonnet (if using), and Jamaican jerk seasoning.
Marinate for 30 minutes minimum or overnight for deeper Caribbean flavor.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and broth. Set aside.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a hot skillet or wok over medium-high.
Sear beef in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.

Add remaining oil to the pan.
Sauté onions and bell peppers for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender yet crisp.

Return the seared beef to the pan.
Pour in the sauce, stir to coat, and simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens and beef is fully coated in that savory Caribbean glaze.

Top with chopped scallions.
Serve hot over white rice, Jasmine rice, or Jamaican rice and peas for an authentic experience!
