    Homemade Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

     

    This Homemade Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy is a comforting classic, perfect for cozy family dinners. Juicy ground beef patties are seasoned and seared, then smothered in a rich, savory mushroom gravy. The gravy, made with sautéed mushrooms and beef broth, adds deep flavor to every bite. Serve it over creamy mashed potatoes or alongside vegetables for a complete meal. With just 40 minutes from start to finish, this dish combines hearty flavors with easy preparation!

    Ingredients:

    For the Salisbury Steak Patties:

    1 lb ground beef

    1/3 cup breadcrumbs

    1 large egg

    1 small onion, finely chopped

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    1 tsp dried parsley

    Salt and black pepper, to taste

    For the Mushroom Gravy:

    2 tbsp unsalted butter

    8 oz mushrooms, sliced

    2 tbsp all-purpose flour

    2 cups beef broth

    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    Salt and black pepper, to taste

    Fresh parsley, for garnish

    Instructions:

    1. Prepare the Salisbury Steak Patties:

    In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.

    Mix until well-blended and shape into 4 oval patties.

    2. Cook the Patties:

    Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are browned and fully cooked. Remove from skillet and set aside.

    3. Make the Mushroom Gravy:

    In the same skillet, add butter and sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until the mushrooms are golden.

    Sprinkle in flour and stir well, cooking for another 1-2 minutes to remove the raw taste.

    Gradually pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

    4. Combine and Serve:

    Return the steak patties to the skillet, spooning the delicious mushroom gravy over them. Let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

    Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley. This homemade Salisbury steak pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes or your favorite vegetables.
