    Homemade Greek Yogurt in a Slow Cooker

     

    Homemade Greek Yogurt in a Slow Cooker

     

    Making your own Greek yogurt at home is easier than you think! This creamy and rich yogurt is made with just two ingredients, and the best part? No special equipment needed just a mini slow cooker! Once you try it, you’ll never want to buy store-bought yogurt again.

    Ingredients:

    1 liter (4 cups) full-fat milk

    250g (1 cup) full-fat store-bought Greek yogurt

    Instructions:

    1. Heat the Milk: Pour the full-fat milk into your mini slow cooker. Set it on high and heat until the temperature reaches 82°C (about 2 hours).

    2. Cool Down: Turn off the slow cooker and let the milk sit with the lid on until the temperature drops to 44°C (about 3 hours).

    3. Add the Starter: Take out 1 cup of the warm milk and mix it with the Greek yogurt until smooth. Pour the mixture back into the slow cooker and gently stir.

    4. Incubate: Keep the slow cooker turned off, wrap it in a towel, and leave it at room temperature overnight (about 10 hours).

    5. Chill and Enjoy: In the morning, you’ll have thick and creamy yogurt! Transfer it to the fridge to chill before serving.

     

    Tips for Perfect Greek Yogurt:

    Use high-quality, full-fat milk for the creamiest texture.

    For a thicker consistency, strain the yogurt through a cheesecloth after it sets.

    Add honey, fresh fruit, or granola for a delicious breakfast or snack!
