    This Chinese Beef and Onion Stir-Fry is a quick and delicious meal that combines tender, lean beef with caramelized onions in a savory sauce. By using heart-healthy oils and low-sodium soy sauce, it supports cardiovascular health while still being flavorful. Garlic and ginger add an immune-boosting kick, making this dish both nutritious and satisfying. Serve it over fiber-rich brown rice for a balanced, wholesome dinner. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s perfect for a healthy weeknight meal!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb lean beef flank steak, thinly sliced (choose lean cuts for heart health)

    2 large onions, sliced

    2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce (low-sodium options can help manage blood pressure)

    1 tablespoon oyster sauce

    1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

    2 cloves garlic, minced (garlic can help support immune health)

    1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced (ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory properties)

    1 tablespoon cornstarch

    2 tablespoons vegetable oil (use heart-healthy oils like avocado or olive oil)

    1 teaspoon sugar (opt for a reduced amount to support healthy blood sugar levels)

    2 tablespoons water

    Green onions, chopped (for garnish)

    Cooked brown rice, for serving (whole grains contribute to cholesterol management)

    Directions:

    Step 1: Marinate Beef
    In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced lean beef with 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of sugar. This marinade locks in flavor while being mindful of your cardiovascular health. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

    Step 2: Prepare Sauce
    In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and sugar. This combination provides a savory taste while using healthier, low-sodium alternatives.

    Step 3: Sauté Onions
    Heat 1 tablespoon of heart-healthy oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until softened and slightly caramelized, about 5 minutes. Caramelizing onions adds depth of flavor without needing excess sugar or salt. Remove from the pan and set aside.

    Step 4: Cook Beef
