Healthy Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza

This Biscuits and Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza combines comfort food with a heart-healthy twist. Using lean sausage, low-fat milk, and whole grain pizza crust, it provides a balanced, protein-packed meal to start your day right. The cheesy scrambled eggs and creamy sausage gravy add rich flavor while keeping it light on unhealthy fats. It’s a delicious, wholesome breakfast that supports wellness and energy. Perfect for a quick, filling breakfast that’s both satisfying and nutritious!

    Ingredients

1 (16 ounce) package breakfast sausage (lean or turkey sausage for a heart-healthy option)

¼ cup whole wheat or all-purpose flour

2 cups low-fat milk (helps maintain strong bones and overall wellness)

    Ground black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil (rich in healthy fats, good for heart health)

1 (12 inch) whole grain pre-baked pizza crust (for added fiber)

    Cooking spray (low-calorie option)

    6 eggs (protein-rich for energy)

¼ cup low-fat milk (supports bone health)

1 cup shredded low-fat Cheddar cheese (or as desired for a calcium boost)

    Directions

    1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain and discard grease to reduce fat. Stir in flour until dissolved, then add 2 cups low-fat milk. Stir occasionally until the gravy reaches the desired consistency, about 10 minutes. Season gravy with black pepper for an added flavor boost without added salt.

    2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

    3. Place the whole grain pizza crust on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil (supports heart health and cholesterol management). Spread 1/2 of the gravy over the olive oil.

    4. Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and warm over medium-high heat. Whisk eggs and 1/4 cup low-fat milk together in a bowl for a protein-packed boost. Cook and stir until eggs are set, about 5 minutes.

    5. Top the pizza with scrambled eggs and low-fat Cheddar cheese for a delicious source of calcium and protein.

    6. Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is golden brown and the top is bubbling, about 10-15 minutes.

Note: Incorporating heart-healthy ingredients like low-fat milk, lean sausage, and whole grains can help support a balanced diet. Enjoy your indulgent breakfast pizza knowing it supports your health and wellness goals!
