4 large green tomatoes
2 eggs

1/2 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 quart vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
Slice the green tomatoes into 1/2-inch thick slices and discard the ends.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until well combined.
Place the flour on a plate. On another plate, mix the cornmeal, bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper.
Dip each tomato slice into the flour, coating both sides. Dip into the egg and milk mixture, then dredge in the cornmeal and breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat, using enough oil to reach about 1/2 inch deep.
Fry the tomatoes in small batches, making sure they do not touch. Cook until golden brown, then flip and fry the other side until crispy.
