     For the Homemade Tomato Sauce

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 small onion, diced
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 can (28 oz) whole Italian tomatoes
    • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
    • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
    • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
    • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper (optional)
    • 1 cup water

     For the Juicy Beef Meatballs

    • 1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
    • ⅓ cup seasoned breadcrumbs
    • ¼ cup finely diced onion
    • 1 egg
    • ½ teaspoon dried basil
    • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper
    • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

     Pasta

    • 1 pound spaghetti

     Instructions

     Make the Flavorful Tomato Sauce

    Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
