    Delicious Beef and Cabbage Rice Skillet

     

    This Beef & Cabbage Rice Skillet is the ultimate one-pot comfort meal, perfect for busy weeknights. Packed with savory ground beef, tender cabbage, and perfectly cooked rice, it’s hearty, filling, and full of flavor. The blend of spices like paprika, cumin, and thyme gives it a rich, warm taste. Plus, it’s customizable with extra veggies and ready in under 30 minutes. Serve it with a side of crusty bread or a fresh salad for a complete, satisfying meal!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb ground beef

    2 cups shredded cabbage

    1 cup uncooked white or brown rice

    1 small onion, diced

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

    2 cups beef broth

    1 tsp paprika

    1/2 tsp cumin

    1/2 tsp dried thyme

    Salt and pepper to taste

    1 tbsp olive oil

    Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

    Instructions:

    1. Brown the Ground Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns. Once cooked, drain any excess fat and set the beef aside.

    2. Sauté Onion & Garlic: In the same skillet, sauté diced onion for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

    3. Toast the Rice & Add Spices: Stir in uncooked rice, paprika, cumin, thyme, salt, and pepper. Toast the rice for 2-3 minutes to enhance its flavor.

    4. Simmer with Tomatoes & Broth: Pour in diced tomatoes (with juices) and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

    5. Add Cabbage: Stir in the shredded cabbage, cover the skillet, and let the dish simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

    6. Combine with Beef: Add the browned ground beef back to the skillet and stir. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

    7. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy this comforting meal! Perfect with a side of crusty bread or a fresh salad.
