    Decadent Chocolate Tender Cake with Berry Filling

     

     

    This Chocolate Tender Cake with Berry Filling is the ultimate indulgence, combining rich, moist chocolate layers with a sweet, tangy strawberry filling. The smooth, creamy chocolate frosting ties it all together, creating a dessert that’s both decadent and delightful. Perfect for special occasions or simply satisfying your sweet tooth, this cake is sure to impress. Garnish with fresh strawberries for an extra touch of elegance.

    Ingredients:

    For the Cake:

    – 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    – 1 cup granulated sugar
    – ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    – 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
    – 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
    – ½ teaspoon salt
    – 2 large eggs
    – 1 cup whole milk
    – ½ cup vegetable oil
    – 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    – 1 cup boiling water

    For the Strawberry Filling:

    – 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
    – ¼ cup granulated sugar
    – 1 tablespoon lemon juice

    For the Chocolate Frosting:

    – ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
    – 2 cups powdered sugar
    – ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    – 2 tablespoons heavy cream
    – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Instructions:

    Bake the Chocolate Cake Layers:
    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by greasing and flouring them.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
    4. Stir in the boiling water, making the batter thin, which ensures a tender, moist cake.
    5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
    6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

    Make the Strawberry Filling:

    1. In a small saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
    2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Allow it to cool completely.

    Prepare the Chocolate Frosting:

    1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
    2. Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing on low speed until everything is well incorporated.
    3. Pour in the heavy cream and vanilla extract. Beat on high speed until the frosting is light, fluffy, and smooth.

    Assemble the Cake:

    1. Once the cakes have cooled completely, place one layer on a serving plate.
    2. Spread the strawberry filling evenly over the top of the cake.
    3. Carefully place the second cake layer on top.
    4. Frost the top and sides of the cake with the chocolate frosting.

    Optional Garnish:

    – Decorate the cake with fresh strawberries or chocolate shavings for an extra indulgent touch.
