Crockpot Sheep Ribs with Honey Balsamic Glaze Recipe
Ingredients:
– 1 rack sheep ribs
– 6 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 teaspoons onion powder
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
– 1/4 cup honey
– 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 tablespoon kosher salt
– 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Ribs:** If the sheep ribs have a membrane on the back, remove it by sliding a knife under the membrane and pulling it away from the ribs. Cut the rack of ribs into individual portions if desired.
2. Season the Ribs: In a small bowl, mix together the minced garlic, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and kosher salt. Rub this seasoning mixture evenly over the surface of the ribs.
3. Make the Glaze: In another bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, and fresh lemon juice until well combined.
4. Place the Ribs in the Crockpot: Pour the water into the bottom of the crockpot. Arrange the seasoned ribs in the crockpot in a single layer.
5. Pour the Glaze: Drizzle the honey balsamic glaze over the ribs, making sure to coat them evenly.
6. Cook: Cover the crockpot with the lid and cook the ribs on low heat for 6-8 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bones. Alternatively, you can cook them on high heat for 3-4 hours.
7. Baste:Optionally, halfway through the cooking time, baste the ribs with some of the juices from the bottom of the crockpot to keep them moist and flavorful.
8. Serve:Once the ribs are cooked, remove them from the crockpot and transfer them to a serving platter. Serve hot, garnished with additional fresh herbs if desired.
