Ingredients:
4 firm green tomatoes, sliced ½-inch thick

½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup cornmeal
½ cup buttermilk
1 large egg
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon paprika
Vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
Arrange the tomato slices on paper towels and sprinkle both sides with salt. Let rest for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture, then pat dry.

Dredge each tomato slice in flour, dip into the buttermilk mixture, then coat well with the seasoned cornmeal.
