    Crispy Parmesan & Gruyère Potato Gratin

     

     

    Indulge in this rich and creamy potato gratin featuring tender layers of Yukon Gold or White potatoes, infused with aromatic garlic and fresh thyme, and topped with a golden, crispy cheese crust. Perfect as a comforting side dish, holiday favorite, or family dinner must-have!

     

     

    Ingredients:

     

     

    1 ½ cups heavy cream

    2 teaspoons kosher salt

    3 cloves garlic, minced

    1 tablespoon butter

    1 small shallot, finely diced

    5 medium Yukon Gold or White potatoes, thinly sliced

    1 cup grated Gruyère cheese

    ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    1 teaspoon fresh thyme

     

     

    Directions:

     

     

    Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.

    Sauté Aromatics: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add diced shallot and minced garlic, cooking 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat.

    Prepare Cream Mixture: In a bowl, combine heavy cream, kosher salt, sautéed garlic and shallot, and fresh thyme. Stir to combine.

    Layer the Potatoes: Arrange half of the potato slices in the prepared dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the Gruyère and Parmesan. Repeat with remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.

    Bake the Gratin: Cover with foil and bake 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20–25 minutes more until golden brown and bubbling.

    Serve & Enjoy: Let rest for a few minutes before serving. This cheesy potato gratin pairs perfectly with roasted meats, poultry, or as a vegetarian-friendly comfort dish.
