    Crispy Mashed Potato Cheese Bites (Easy Cheesy Potato Appetizer)

    Ingredients for Crispy Mashed Potato Cheese Bites

    2 cups mashed potatoes (leftover mashed potatoes work best)

    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

    ½ cup all-purpose flour

    1 large egg, beaten

    ½ teaspoon garlic powder

    ½ teaspoon onion powder

    Salt and black pepper, to taste

    1 cup breadcrumbs (for coating)

    2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    Olive oil, for frying

    How to Make Crispy Mashed Potato Cheese Bites
    Prepare the Cheesy Potato Mixture

    In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, flour, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
    Mix well until you have a firm, moldable mixture—perfect for shaping into cheesy potato bites.

    Shape the Potato Bites

    Scoop about 1–2 tablespoons of the mixture and roll into small balls or shape into mini patties. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

    Coat with Breadcrumbs

    Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. Roll each potato bite until fully coated. This step creates the crispy golden crust everyone loves.

    Heat the Oil

    Drain
