    Crispy Hashbrown and Sausage Bites Recipe

    Crispy Hashbrown and Sausage Bites are a delicious blend of flavors that make for an irresistible snack or breakfast treat. Made with thawed frozen hashbrowns, savory breakfast sausage, and gooey cheddar cheese, these bites are packed with flavor. They’re easy to prepare and fry up quickly, resulting in a crispy exterior and a soft, cheesy center. Perfect for brunch gatherings or as a game-day appetizer, they can be served with your favorite dipping sauces. Enjoy these savory bites for a satisfying and indulgent treat!

    Ingredients:

    3 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed and drained

    1 lb breakfast sausage (ground or in links, crumbled)

    1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

    2 large eggs

    1/2 cup all-purpose flour

    1/4 cup green onions, chopped

    1/2 tsp garlic powder

    1/2 tsp onion powder

    Salt and pepper to taste

    2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)

    Directions:

    1. Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. If using sausage links, crumble them after cooking. Drain excess fat and set the sausage aside.

    2. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix the thawed hashbrowns, cooked sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, eggs, flour, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together until evenly combined.

    3. Form the Bites: Shape the mixture into small bite-sized patties or balls, about 1.5 inches in diameter, perfect for frying.

    4. Heat the Oil: Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

    5. Fry the Bites: Add the hashbrown and sausage bites to the hot oil and fry them for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are crispy and golden brown.

    6. Drain and Serve: Once fried, place the bites on a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ketchup, ranch, or spicy aioli.
