Crispy Fried Chicken Recipe (Crunchy & Delicious!)
Ingredients:
For the Chicken Marinade:
1 whole chicken, cut into 8 pieces (or just use thighs and drumsticks)
1 cup yogurt or buttermilk
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp chili powder (optional for spicy lovers
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chicken seasoning or mixed spices
For the Crispy Coating:
2 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup cornstarch (the secret to extra crunch!)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of the same spices as in the marinade (use more for extra flavor)
Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Chicken:
Make small cuts in each chicken piece with a knife to allow the marinade to penetrate.
In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and chicken seasoning.
Add the chicken pieces, coat them well, and let them marinate for at least 4 hours, or overnight in the fridge for best flavor.
2. Prepare the Coating:
In a separate bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and the same spices from the marinade.
3. Fry the Chicken:
Heat enough oil in a deep pot or fryer over medium heat.
Remove the chicken from the marinade, dip each piece in the flour-spice mixture, and coat evenly.
Shake off excess flour and carefully place the chicken in the hot oil. Fry 3–4 pieces at a time to avoid overcrowding.
Reduce heat slightly and cook for 15–20 minutes (depending on piece size) until golden brown and fully cooked.
4. Serve:
Place fried chicken on a wire rack to keep it crispy.
Serve with golden fries and creamy coleslaw for the perfect meal!
