    Creamy Lobster and Scallop Chowder Recipe

    If you’re craving a rich and comforting seafood chowder recipe, this Creamy Lobster and Scallop Chowder is the perfect choice. Made with tender lobster meat, buttery sea scallops, hearty potatoes, and sweet corn in a velvety cream base, this dish is pure coastal luxury in a bowl. Whether you’re looking for an easy seafood chowder for weeknight dinners or an elegant starter for special occasions, this lobster chowder with scallops will impress every time.

    Ingredients:

    2 tbsp butter
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    2 celery stalks, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
    1 bay leaf
    2 medium potatoes, peeled & diced
    1 cup corn kernels (fresh or frozen)
    ¼ cup all-purpose flour
    4 cups seafood stock (or chicken broth)
    1 cup heavy cream
    ½ cup whole milk
    ½ lb cooked lobster meat, chopped
    ½ lb sea scallops (halved if large)
    Salt & black pepper, to taste
    Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
    2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    Directions:

    Sauté aromatics Heat butter and olive oil in a large pot. Add onion, celery, and garlic; cook 4–5 minutes until softened.

    Add vegetables & seasonings Stir in thyme, bay leaf, diced potatoes, and corn. Cook for 2 minutes.

    Build the roux Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir for 1–2 minutes to thicken.

    Add seafood stock Slowly whisk in seafood stock. Bring to a boil, then simmer 12–15 minutes until potatoes are tender.

    Make it creamy Stir in heavy cream and milk, returning to a gentle simmer.

    Add seafood Gently fold in lobster meat and scallops. Simmer 4–5 minutes until scallops are cooked through.

    Season & finish Remove bay leaf, then season with salt, pepper, and cayenne.

    Serve & enjoy Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with crusty bread.

    Tips & Variations:

    Fresh lobster tails or claws give the best results.
    For a richer creamy seafood soup, stir in a spoonful of cream cheese at the end.
