Creamy Cajun Shrimp & Crab Pasta
Ingredients:
– 1 red bell pepper
– 1 yellow bell pepper
– 1/2 white onion, chopped
– 1 rib celery
– 2 tablespoons butter
– 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning, divided
– 3 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
– 3 tablespoons flour
– 1 pound spaghetti pasta, cooked
– Salt
– 1 cup reserved pasta water
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 2 cups fresh grated Parmesan
– 2 teaspoons black pepper
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled & deveined
– 1/2 pound lump crabmeat
Instructions:
1. Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions.
2. Chop red and yellow bell peppers, onion, and celery rib. Sauté in butter until tender.
3. Add 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning and chopped garlic to the sautéed vegetables.
4. Stir in flour until garlic softens.
5. Add pasta water, heavy cream, fresh grated Parmesan, black pepper, and garlic powder to the pan. Stir well until cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. Reduce heat to low.
6. In a separate pan, cook shrimp with remaining Cajun seasoning in butter until pink. Add cooked shrimp to the sauce and stir.
7. Gently fold in lump crabmeat.
8. Toss cooked pasta with the sauce or serve the sauce over rice or grits.
