    Chocolate Vanilla Cake

    Ingredients

    For the Chocolate Cake:

    – 200g dark chocolate
    – 200g unsalted butter
    – 200g sugar
    – 5 eggs
    – 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

    For the Vanilla Cake:

    – 200g sugar
    – 4 eggs
    – 120ml vegetable oil
    – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    – 240g all-purpose flour
    – 1 teaspoon baking powder
    – 120ml milk

    For the Frosting:

    – 200g dark chocolate
    – 200ml heavy cream
    – 50g unsalted butter

    Instructions

    Chocolate Cake:
    1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a cake tin.

    2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.

    3. Mix in the sugar until well combined.

    4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    5. Fold in the flour until just combined.

    6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool.

    Vanilla Cake:

    1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a cake tin.

    2. Beat the eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy.

    3. Add the vegetable oil and vanilla extract and mix well.

    4. Sift in the flour and baking powder, alternating with the milk, mixing until just combined.

    5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool.

    Frosting:

    1. Melt the dark chocolate, heavy cream, and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water until smooth and glossy.

    2. Let the frosting cool slightly before spreading it over the cooled chocolate and vanilla cake layers.

    Assembly:

    1. Place the chocolate cake layer on a serving plate.

    2. Spread a layer of frosting over the chocolate cake.

    3. Top with the vanilla cake layer.

    4. Cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
