Ingredients
Ground beef (80/20 blend) for juicy flavor and tender texture
Taco seasoning mix for classic Tex-Mex taste (homemade or store-bought)
Ready-made pizza dough such as Pillsbury or any soft elastic dough
Colby Jack and cheddar cheese sticks for a perfect cheese melt
Butter, melted, to keep breadsticks soft and golden
Garlic powder for classic garlic bread flavor
Dried parsley for color and freshness
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a large baking sheet to prevent sticking.
Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small crumbles. Cook for about 7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat, then mix in the taco seasoning without adding water. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly so the cheese does not melt too early.
Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and evenly flattened. Cut the dough in half lengthwise, then slice into ten equal rectangles so they bake evenly.
Place one generous tablespoon of taco meat onto each dough rectangle. Lay half a cheese stick on top of the meat. Roll the dough tightly around the filling and pinch the seams closed to keep the cheese inside while baking.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush the mixture generously over each breadstick for maximum flavor and a golden finish.
Arrange the breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until puffed and deep golden brown.
Serve the cheesy taco breadsticks hot from the oven. They are best enjoyed dipped in salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
