    Cheesy Breadsticks (Palitos de Pan de Queso)

    These homemade cheesy breadsticks are soft on the inside, golden on the outside, and packed with rich cheese flavor. Made with mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic butter, and a light beer dough, this easy baked breadstick recipe is perfect as an appetizer, snack, or party food. One bite and you’ll understand why everyone—from kids to adults—loves them!

     Ingredients

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • ¾ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon yeast
    • ¾ cup beer, room temperature
    • 2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
    • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • Tomato sauce (tomato frito), to spread
    • Olive oil (optional)

     How to Make Cheesy Breadsticks

    1. Prepare the dough
      In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, salt, oil, and beer. Mix and knead until a smooth, homogeneous dough forms.
    2. Let the dough rest
      Cover the dough with a clean, dry cloth and let it rest for 60 minutes in a warm place.
    3. Preheat the oven
      Near the end of the resting time, preheat the oven to 230°C / 445°F, using top and bottom heat.
    4. Prepare the garlic butter
      In a small bowl, mix the butter with the chopped garlic until well combined.
    5. Assemble
      Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Spread the dough evenly over the tray. Brush with garlic butter, add a light layer of tomato sauce, and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly on top.
    6. Bake
      Bake for 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
    7. Slice and serve
      Remove from the oven, let cool for 2 minutes, then cut into breadsticks about 1½ fingers wide. Serve warm and enjoy!
