San Sebastián Cheesecake (Burnt Basque Cheesecake – Ultra Creamy & Easy Recipe)
This San Sebastián Cheesecake, also known as Burnt Basque Cheesecake, is a famous Spanish dessert loved for its deep caramelized top, ultra-creamy center, and rich cheesecake flavor. Originating from San Sebastián, Spain, this easy cheesecake recipe requires only a few ingredients and delivers bakery-quality results at home.

If you love creamy cheesecake recipes, easy baked desserts, and classic European pastries, this cheesecake is a must-try!

    Ingredients
    4 large eggs

1 cup (250 ml) heavy cream

    18 oz (500 g) cream cheese, softened

    1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar

    1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, sifted

How to Make San Sebastián Cheesecake
Add the cream cheese and sugar to a large bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy.

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Pour in the heavy cream and mix until fully combined.

Add the sifted flour and mix gently until the batter is silky and lump-free.

Wet two sheets of parchment paper with cold water, squeeze out excess, and line a springform pan.

Pour the cheesecake batter into the prepared pan.

Bake at 200°C (400°F) in the lower rack of the oven for 40 minutes until the top is deeply golden and caramelized.

Remove from oven and let cool at room temperature, then refrigerate until fully set.

Serve chilled or slightly warm for the perfect creamy cheesecake texture.

Why You’ll Love This Burnt Basque Cheesecake
    ✔ Ultra Creamy Texture
Thanks to heavy cream and cream cheese, the center stays soft, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth.

    ✔ Easy & Foolproof
No water bath, no crust, and no complicated steps—perfect for beginners.

    ✔ Naturally Gluten-Light
Only one tablespoon of flour is used, making it lighter than traditional cheesecakes.

    ✔ Bakery-Style at Home
This recipe creates a beautifully caramelized top and creamy center just like in Spanish cafés.

    ✔ Perfect for Any Occasion
Ideal for holidays, dinner parties, birthdays, or a simple sweet treat.

    Serving Ideas
