Looking for a tropical twist on classic chicken wings? These Brown Sugar Pineapple Wings are glazed with a sweet and tangy sauce made from real pineapple juice, soy sauce, and brown sugar making them the perfect game day appetizer, party snack, or easy weeknight dinner idea!

 

Ingredients:

For the Chicken:

900g chicken wings (separated into flats and drumettes)

For the Marinade:

120 ml pineapple juice

60 ml soy sauce

55 g brown sugar

2 garlic cloves, finely minced

1 tsp fresh ginger, grated

For the Sauce:

60 ml pineapple chunks

8 g cornstarch

30 ml water

Salt and black pepper to taste

 

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger until well combined.

3. Add the chicken wings, coat evenly in the marinade, then cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for max flavor!).

4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and fully cooked.

5. While baking, create a cornstarch slurry by mixing water and cornstarch in a small bowl.

6. In a saucepan over medium heat, pour in the reserved marinade, add the pineapple chunks, and bring to a simmer. Stir in the slurry and cook until the sauce thickens.

7. Toss the baked wings in the sweet pineapple glaze and serve hot with fresh herbs or chopped green onions on top!

 

Pro Tips:

These wings are perfect for the air fryer too cook at 190°C for 20–25 minutes!

Serve with jasmine rice, coleslaw, or a pineapple salsa for a full tropical meal.
