Brioche Cheesecake Danishes with Hawaiian Twist (Makes 12)
This recipe takes classic cheesecake danish and adds a delightful Hawaiian twist using King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls. Enjoy them warm for a decadent breakfast or a sweet ending to your meal.
Ingredients:
1 (12-count) package King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
¼ cup melted butter
(Cinnamon Sugar)
1 ½ tablespoons granulated sugar
½ tablespoon ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
Heat Up: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Make Pockets: Gently slice each sweet roll in half, but not all the way through. Imagine creating a little pocket to hold the delicious filling.
Creamy Cheese Mix: In a bowl, whip together the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg yolk until smooth and creamy.
Fill and Bake: Spoon or pipe the cream cheese mixture into each sweet roll pocket. Place them on the baking sheet with space between them to avoid any melty mishaps. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is set.
Cool and Serve: Let the danishes cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a platter. Dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness and enjoy!
Tips:
For a richer flavor, use full-fat cream cheese.
To make a glaze instead of using powdered sugar, whisk together some powdered sugar, milk, and a touch of vanilla extract until you reach your desired consistency. Drizzle over the danishes before serving.
Feel free to experiment with different toppings! Chopped nuts, a drizzle of honey, or even fresh fruit slices would be delicious additions.
Enjoy these King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake Danishes and impress everyone with your baking skills!
