    Authentic Hungarian Beef Goulash Recipe

    Warm up with a bowl of rich, hearty Hungarian Beef Goulash, packed with tender beef, aromatic spices, and slow-simmered vegetables. This traditional Hungarian dish is perfect for cozy family dinners and will transport your taste buds straight to Eastern Europe!

    Ingredients:

    2 tbsp Butter
    1 kg (2 lbs) Beef Chuck, cubed
    Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
    2 Onions, diced
    4 Garlic Cloves, minced
    1 Bell Pepper, diced
    2 Tomatoes, chopped
    1 L (4 cups) Beef Broth
    2 Bay Leaves
    2 Carrots, chopped
    2 Potatoes, cubed
    4 tbsp Sweet Hungarian Paprika
    1 tsp Caraway Seeds
    Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish)

    Instructions:

    Prepare the Beef:

    Season the beef chuck with salt and black pepper, ensuring an even coating.

    Sauté the Onions & Brown the Beef:

    In a large Dutch oven or heavy-bottomed pot, melt butter over medium heat.
    Add onions and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
    Stir in the beef cubes, browning them on all sides for 2-3 minutes.

    Add Vegetables & Spices:

    Stir in garlic, bell pepper, and tomatoes, cooking for about 4 minutes until softened.
    Sprinkle in the Hungarian paprika, caraway seeds, and bay leaves, mixing well to coat the beef with flavor.

    Simmer the Goulash:

    Pour in the beef broth, stirring everything together.
    Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover with a lid, and cook on low heat for 1½ hours, stirring occasionally.

    Add Root Vegetables:

    Stir in the carrots and potatoes, cover again, and let simmer for another 30 minutes until the vegetables are tender and the beef falls apart.

    Serve & Enjoy!
