Ingredients
16 oz whole white button mushrooms
6 oz cream cheese, softened
3 tbsp sour cream
¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
Dash of black pepper
Optional garnish: chopped chives or green onions
Instructions
Prepare the Mushrooms
Use a damp paper towel to gently wipe away any dirt from the mushrooms. Avoid rinsing under water, as mushrooms can become slimy. Carefully remove the stems from the mushroom caps to create a small well for the filling.
Make the Creamy Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Stuff the Mushrooms
Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each mushroom cap. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and optional chives.
Tip: For easy topping, place shredded cheese in a shallow dish and gently press each stuffed mushroom cap into the cheese.
Air Fry
Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) and cook for 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Serve
Let the mushrooms cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm for the best flavor and texture.
