Homemade Apple Cinnamon Swirl Loaf
Ingredients:
– 1/3 cup light brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 2/3 cup white sugar
– 1/2 cup butter, softened
– 2 eggs
– 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 cup milk
– 2 apples, peeled and chopped
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the white sugar and softened butter until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Combine the flour and baking powder; gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Stir until the batter is smooth.
5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the chopped apples and half of the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture over the batter. Repeat the layers with the remaining batter, apples, and brown sugar/cinnamon mixture.
6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
8. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf.
