Hawaiian Cheesecake Sweet Roll Recipe
Ingredients:
– 1 tablespoon melted butter
– 1 pack (12 rolls) KING’S HAWAIIAN® original sweet rolls
– 1/3 cup melted butter
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
– Pinch of ground nutmeg (optional)
– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 1 large egg, beaten
– 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with 1 tablespoon melted butter.
2. Arrange the sweet rolls in the dish, making an X cut on top of each roll about 2/3 down but not through the bottom.
3. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/3 cup melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour this mixture evenly over the rolls.
4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Stir in granulated sugar and beaten egg until well combined.
5. Fill each roll with the cream cheese mixture using a piping bag or spoon.
6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.
