Philly Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers Recipe
Ingredients:
– 3 green bell peppers
– 1 lb mushrooms, thinly sliced
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 1 lb beef, sliced into thin strips
– 12 slices Provolone cheese
– Oil for cooking
– Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add mushrooms and sauté until slightly browned, then add onions and continue cooking until golden. Set aside.
3. In the same skillet, cook beef strips until nicely browned. Reintroduce mushroom and onion mix, seasoning with salt and pepper.
4. Slice the tops off green bell peppers and remove insides. Place a slice of Provolone cheese at the bottom of each pepper, fill with beef mixture, and cap with another slice of cheese.
5. Arrange stuffed peppers on a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes until peppers are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
