    Creamy Garlic Mushroom Stew

    This Creamy Garlic Mushroom Stew is a cozy, flavor-packed dish made with tender mushrooms, fragrant garlic, and a silky cream-based sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights, meatless meals, or a comforting family dinner, this stew delivers restaurant-quality flavor using simple pantry ingredients.

    Ingredients:

    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    5–6 garlic cloves, minced
    500 g mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or mixed)
    1 tbsp all-purpose flour
    (Continue with broth, cream, and seasoning as desired)

    Directions:

    In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

    Add the finely chopped onion and cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent.

    Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Do not let it burn.

    Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their moisture and become golden and tender.

    Sprinkle the flour evenly over the mushrooms. Stir well and cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.

    Gradually add your liquid (vegetable broth or water), stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Let the stew simmer gently until thickened.

    Reduce heat to low, add cream or milk if using, and simmer for another 2–3 minutes until the sauce is smooth and velvety.

    Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot over rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread.

    Tip: Add fresh thyme, parsley, or a pinch of paprika for extra flavor.
