Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese (Homemade & Extra Cheesy!)
Looking for the best homemade baked mac and cheese recipe? This creamy baked macaroni and cheese is rich, cheesy, and irresistibly comforting. With three cheeses and a golden breadcrumb topping, it’s the ultimate comfort food pasta casserole — perfect for holidays, family dinners, or cozy weeknights.

Ingredients for Creamy Mac and Cheese
    8 oz elbow macaroni

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

    1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    3 cups milk

    1/2 cup butter

    1/4 cup all-purpose flour

    1 tsp salt

    1/2 tsp black pepper

    1/2 tsp paprika

    1/2 cup breadcrumbs

How to Make the Best Baked Mac and Cheese
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, then drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour, salt, pepper, and paprika to form a smooth roux.

Slowly pour in milk, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens — about 5–7 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan until melted into a creamy cheese sauce.

Stir cooked macaroni into the cheese sauce and mix until every noodle is coated.

Transfer to a greased baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly on top.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden, bubbly, and perfectly crispy on top.

Serve warm and enjoy the ultimate cheesy goodness!

Use freshly shredded cheese — it melts smoother than bagged cheese.

For extra flavor, add garlic powder or Dijon mustard to the sauce.
