    Crispy Cod Strips with Creamy Tartar Sauce

    Ingredients:

    For the Crispy Cod Strips
    500 g (1 lb) fresh cod fillets, cut into strips
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    2 eggs, beaten
    1½ cups breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
    ½ tsp paprika
    ½ tsp garlic powder
    ½ tsp salt
    ¼ tsp black pepper
    Vegetable oil for frying (or use air fryer)
    Optional for Extra Flavor:
    1 tbsp grated Parmesan mixed into breadcrumbs
    Lemon wedges for serving

    For the Creamy Tartar Dipping Sauce
    ½ cup mayonnaise
    2 tbsp finely chopped pickles or relish
    1 tsp Dijon mustard
    1 tsp lemon juice
    1 tsp capers (optional)
    1 tbsp chopped parsley or dill
    Salt & pepper to taste

    Directions:

    Pat cod strips dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

    Set up three bowls one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder.
    Dip each strip in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs, pressing gently so the coating sticks.

    Fry: Heat oil to 180°C (350°F). Cook cod strips 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
    Air-Fry: Lightly spray with oil. Air-fry at 200°C (400°F) for 10–12 minutes, turning halfway.
    Drain on paper towels for extra crunch.

    Combine mayonnaise, pickles, mustard, lemon juice, capers, and herbs. Season to taste and chill 15 minutes.

    Serve hot Crispy Cod Strips with homemade tartar sauce and fresh lemon wedges. Perfect with fries, coleslaw, or a light salad.
