Rich, buttery, and full of flavor this Creamy Garlic Shrimp with Rice is the ultimate comfort food for seafood lovers! Juicy shrimp are simmered in a luscious garlic Parmesan cream sauce and served over fluffy jasmine rice. Perfect for busy weeknights or a special dinner at home.

Ingredients:

For the Shrimp:
• 500g (1 lb) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tbsp butter
• Salt & black pepper, to taste
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tsp paprika
• ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
• 1 cup heavy cream (or cooking cream)
• ½ cup chicken broth (or seafood stock)
• ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1 tbsp flour (optional, for thickening)
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
• 2 tbsp chopped parsley
For Serving:
• 2 cups cooked jasmine or basmati rice

Instructions:

 

Prepare jasmine or basmati rice according to package instructions. Fluff and keep warm.

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes.
Sear 1–2 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt 1 tbsp butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
(Optional: whisk in flour to thicken.)
Stir in chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add lemon juice and parsley.
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss gently in the creamy sauce.
Cook for another 1–2 minutes until shrimp are fully coated and heated through.

Spoon the creamy garlic shrimp over warm rice. Garnish with fresh parsley or lemon wedges.
