Ingredients for Spicy Seafood Stew

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves fresh garlic, minced

1 red bell pepper, chopped

1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes (undrained)

4 cups low-sodium fish broth or seafood stock

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for heat preference)

¼ tsp dried oregano

Sea salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste

1 lb mixed seafood (cod, shrimp, mussels, scallops fresh or thawed from frozen)

½ cup fresh parsley, chopped

How to Make Spicy Seafood Stew

Sauté the Aromatics

Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until softened (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic and bell pepper, cooking for another 3 minutes until fragrant.

Build the Base

Add diced tomatoes with their juices, fish broth, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer to let the flavors meld.

Add the Seafood

Stir in the mixed seafood. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5–7 minutes, or until the seafood is fully cooked and tender. Be careful not to overcook!

Garnish & Serve

Stir in fresh parsley just before serving. Ladle the spicy seafood stew into bowls and enjoy with crusty bread or warm rice.

Pro Tip: Add a squeeze of lemon juice or a dollop of plain yogurt for a bright, fresh finish.
