    Creamy Beef and Cheddar Pasta Shells

     

    Get ready to indulge in this rich and comforting Creamy Beef and Shells recipe! Tender pasta shells coated in a velvety cheddar cheese sauce with seasoned ground beef make for the ultimate quick and easy weeknight dinner. Perfect for when you’re craving something hearty and delicious!

    Ingredients:

    1 lb ground beef
    2 cups medium pasta shells
    1 small onion, diced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tbsp olive oil
    2 tbsp all-purpose flour
    2 cups whole milk
    1 cup beef broth
    1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    ½ tsp paprika
    ½ tsp salt
    ¼ tsp black pepper
    ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
    2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

    Instructions:

    1. Cook the Pasta:

    Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

    2. Sauté the Aromatics:

    In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil.

    Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

    Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

    3. Cook the Beef:

    Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon.

    Cook until browned, then drain excess fat and set aside.

    4. Make the Cheese Sauce:

    In the same skillet, add flour and whisk with the remaining oil to create a roux.

    Cook for 1 minute, then slowly whisk in milk and beef broth.

    Stir until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.

    5. Add the Cheese and Seasoning:

    Lower the heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).

    Mix until smooth and creamy.

    6. Combine Everything:

    Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir to combine.

    Add the cooked pasta shells and toss until evenly coated.

    7. Garnish and Serve:

    Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
