Looking for the ultimate Italian comfort food? This Homemade Stuffed Shells recipe is loaded with creamy ricotta, savory ground beef, and melty mozzarella, all baked to perfection in rich spaghetti sauce. It’s a family favorite that’s perfect for meal prep, dinner parties, or a cozy night in!

    Ingredients:

    ½ lb jumbo pasta shells
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 onion finely chopped
    3 cloves garlic minced
    1 lb ground beef
    2 tbsp Italian herbs
    2 cups spaghetti sauce
2 cups ricotta (or cottage cheese)
1 cup mozzarella shredded (plus more for topping)
½ cup parmesan grated (plus more for topping)
    1 egg beaten
    Generous salt & pepper

    Instructions:

    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook pasta 1 minute less than package instructions, drain, and rinse with cool water. Add 1 tbsp olive oil to prevent sticking.
Sauté onion in olive oil over medium heat until soft (4–5 min). Add garlic and cook for another minute.
Brown the beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Sprinkle Italian herbs and stir in 1 cup spaghetti sauce. Remove from heat.
Mix the filling: In a bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, and egg. Stir this mixture into the beef.
Assemble: Spread remaining sauce in a greased 9×13” baking dish. Fill shells with the beef-cheese mixture and place on top of the sauce. Sprinkle with extra mozzarella and parmesan.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

Pro Tip: Want a vegetarian version? Swap the beef for spinach & mushrooms!

Perfect for meal prep! Make ahead and refrigerate or freeze for later!
